Motorola has launched their a fresh Budget-opening 4G smartphone : Moto G04, which is launched at 6249/- . While it is a 4G phone which is placed in 6-7K budget, while it might be a good handset for some people who are facing issues while fixing budget for handset. But what does it contain? 1. PHYSICAL OVERVIEW
The Moto G04 is a budget-opener device, but it doesn't give a feeling that it is a budget device. The phone looks sturdy and it's in-hand feel is also grabby. The phone is made up of plastic. It has a PMMA acrylic back and the frame is of plastic. The phone weighs around 178 grams.
The phone has all the ports and buttons. On the bottom, we get a speaker grill, a Type-C port, and a microphone. On the left hand side, we get an SIM card port, which can have 2 SIM and a dedicated SD card port. On the right hand side, we get volume and power buttons. On the top side, we get an 3.5mm Jack. The orange color of G04 feels surreal and stylish.
2. DISPLAY
The Moto G04 comes with a 6.5 inches HD+ Display with a 90Hz Display refresh rate support. Moto gets here a W for giving a 90Hz display in this price segment. The display is good. We also get an punch-hole display at this rate.
The colors are punchy and beautiful and display has widewine L3 support, which means only SD or 480P content can be consumed on OTT, while we can watch FHD content on Youtube. At this rate, giving a punch-hole display is also a good decision by Moto.
3. HARDWARE
The Moto G04 comes with a UniSoc T606 Processor. We have seen this processor used by many brands like Poco, Realme, Tecno, Infinix and other brands. T606 is a Budget ranged SOC and it is made for handling only daily life normal tasks. It has a clock speed of 1.6Ghz and it is based on 12nm architecture.
The Antutu score comes around 250-260K. which is quite decent and acceptable . All the normal task and a little bit multitasking can be done on this device. As it is a budget-opening device, it is not recommendable for gaming, but some basic gaming can be done like playing candy crush or temple run.
4. SOFTWARE
Moto G04 comes with android 14 out of the box. Good to see that Motorola is working on updates and they are delivering Android 14 for 2024 devices. It has a MyUI 6.0 which is a Stock UI, but it comes with some bloatware and also the folder bloatware, which suggest some third party apps which are not quite useful and may take the unwanted space.
So uninstalling them would be great idea. but by software and 90Hz refresh support, the experience is quite good and there are minimum lags or frame drops in UI, which is quite good considering the price range and the chipset.
5. SECURITY
Moto G04 comes with a side mounted fingerprint scanner which is present in power button. The reliability of the scanner is decent and it is fast.
We also get an face unlock which is also fast and reliable. as for the updates, it will not receive any major updates, but will receive 2 years of security updates.
6. CAMERA
The Moto G04 features a 16MP rear camera with laser-assisted autofocus system and phase detection autofocus, which ensures quick and accurate focusing. The camera also supports HDR mode, which helps to bring out more detail in shadows while maintaining highlights.
The rear camera is capable of shooting Full HD videos, with options for HDR, flash, and zoom. The front-facing camera is a 5MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, which captures bright selfies with a wide-angle lens. The front camera also features an auto-HDR mode, which helps to balance exposure and color in selfies.
7. BATTERY
As for the battery, it comes with a 5000Mah Li-Po battery and has a 10W charger in it. As for the battery status, it can lasts for a whole day.
The chipset is quite efficient and it can handle the work, so the battery consumption is okay on that level.
8. OTHER FEATURES
The Moto G04 comes with a IP-52 splash resistant protection certification. as for the other features, it comes with a WiFi 5 and Bluetooth version 5.0.
It is a 4G phone, so it supports Dual 4G Vol-LTE and but there is no Carrier aggregation support. it also has the moto gesture supports too.

The Moto G04 is a promising entry-level smartphone that offers a well-rounded experience for everyday users, with a focus on providing a simple and reliable experience for budget-conscious consumers. The Moto G04 starts from Rs. 6999/- for 4/64 GB variant and Rs. 7999 for 8/128GB variant. By seeing the specs sheet, Motorola has tried to deliver a decent package at this price range and hopefully this device will be a popular in this range.
