Infinix Smart 8 HD: A Super-Budget Phone with superb specs.

Smartphones under budget segment (5K - 8K) come with mediocre specifications. Some devices list with a low-end chipset, a U-shaped notch display, or a mediocre camera setup. even the designs and build quality also get ignored in this segment. Sometimes, few brands launch some phones in the budget segment that are truly value for money. Infinix is one of them, they recently launched Infinix Smart 8 HD, which price is under 7K/- (6299/-) (Under 6K/- for the launch price) and has got some really good specifications. 1. PHYSICAL :

Talking about Design, the Infinix Smart 8 HD looks so beautiful. It feels like it is a 10-15K Ranged smartphone. It is 6.6 inches long and weighs around 182 grams. It has got a PMMA Back, which is better than plastic, and has a plastic / Polycarbonate Frame. 

The in-hand feel is also good and has nice aesthetics. It has a Dedicated SD card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microphone, and single mono-bottom firing speakers which are loud considering the price. 

For security, it also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner which is rare. Generally, many brands skip the scanner or place it at the rear side, but Infinix done a great job by including it in a power button (Side Fingerprint Scanner). 

2. DISPLAY :

In the Display part, generally in this range, we get to see a U or V-shaped notch display, But Infinix Smart 8 HD has got a Center-Punch hole Display, which is very good at this price range. 

The Display is 6.6 inches HD+ IPS with a 90Hz Screen refresh rate, which is very rare in the 6-7K budget segment. The display feels smooth and also has good brightness. Content consumption experience is also good considering the price. 

3. HARDWARE :

Infinix Smart 8 HD is powered by Unisoc T606 Chipset, which we rather get to see in 8-10K by other brands. It has got 3GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB storage, which is surprisingly a UFS2.2 Storage Type. 

Generally, we get to see the eMMC5.1 storage which is very slow in this segment, but Infinix has shown courage and uniqueness by giving a fast storage type. The AnTuTu Score is around 230-240K, which is again a powerful score in this segment.

The UnisOC T606 is a 1.6Ghz Octa core processor which is generally seen in 8-10K segment by other brands. It is meant to build for normal tasks. It can easily handle day to day tasks like Watching videos, doing some other productive work, calling etc. When it comes to gaming part the gaming experience may get hindered as it is not much powerful as we see in other mobiles. it can hold up to 30FPS in BGMI. We cannot expect much heavy task from this SOC. Overall UnisOC T606 still performs pretty good according to this price segment.

4. SOFTWARE : 

Infinix Smart 8 comes with Infinix's own UI, XOS 13.0.0, which is based on the Android 13 Go edition. Go edition means, it has minimal animations and gets packed with lighter applications to reduce the burden on chipset which are least powered. 

Good to see that It has got the latest version of Android, which is again a nice step in this price. The number of bloatware apps is also low which is great. It also has a Magic ring feature, which is like a copy of dynamic island, but it has features like call notification, and charging notification.

5. CAMERA : 

Inifnix Smart 8 HD is packed with a 13MP Main shooter camera in the rear with AI Lens as a secondary camera and flash which is called Ring light. 

It also has an 8MP Selfie camera at the front with a small flash on the right side The Camera quality is decent considering the price and the photos look good. 

It has got FHD i.e 1080P Recording with 30FPS and has all basic camera features.

6. BATTERY : 

The device has a standard 5000MAh Battery and a standard 10 Watt Charger. The good thing is it is equipped with a TYPE-C Port. 

Generally, in this segment, we get to see a Micro-USB Port, but good to see that Infinix has included a TYPE-C Port in this handset.

7. OTHER FEATURES : 

Inifinx Smart 8 has all the sensors that are needed in a smartphone. Surprisingly, this is a 6-7K ranged phone and it also has a gyroscope sensor, which other brands miss in their phones in this segment. 

It has a WIFI 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. It is a 4G device, so dual VoLTE is included. The Front flash module also works as a battery-charging notification light.

8. SPECIAL FEATURES :

The Infinix Smart 8 HD features a unique Magic Ring interface that enhances user experience and interaction with the phone. The Magic Ring is a pill-shaped animation near the notch on the display that showcases various notifications and shortcuts. 

It is a software feature that provides charging animations, background calls, low-battery reminders, and other notifications. The Magic Ring is a standout feature of the Infinix Smart 8 HD, and it adds a touch of fun and interactivity to the user experience. It is a unique feature that is not commonly found in budget smartphones, and it sets the Infinix Smart 8 HD apart from its competitors.

Thus, this is all about Infinix Smart 8 HD. The launch price is 5669/- and the regular price is 6299/-. Judging by the price, Infinix has really done a good job and delivered a great handset for the people.
