For more technical details click here.
1. PHYSICAL OVERVIEW
The Samsung A25 5G looks similar to Samsung's premium series: the S Series. Somehow, It looks like the brother of Galaxy A34. Thanks to the camera module. The Body and frame are made of plastic. The Samsung A25 weighs around 197 grams and is quite handy. As for the buttons and ports, on the bottom side, we get a 3.5mm jack, a USB-C port, and a microphone.
On the left-hand side, we get a Sim-slot with a Hybrid slot( One SIM+ One SD or Both SIM). On the right side, we get volume buttons with a power button with a fingerprint scanner included in it. On the upper side, we get a Secondary mic. So far, the A15 looks decent physically.
2. DISPLAY
The Display on A25 has a change from its ancestors. It has a 6.5-inch FHD+ SUPER AMOLED Display with 120Hz refresh rate. In Samsung A15 5G, there was a 90Hz AMOLED display, But in A25 5G, it is a SUPER-AMOLED. But as usual, Samsung always disappoints people by giving a Notched-display. It has an ugly U-shaped notch display. considering the competition, if we see other brands, we get to see a punch-hole display, but in Samsung, we get to see a U-shaped notch display.
But it's a Samsung display, so the colors are punchy and vivid. The display is also Widevine L1 certified, So the OTT content is displayed in Full HD quality. The Screen refresh rate is also 120Hz, so it feels smooth and fast. It also has gorilla glass protection. So far, the display is vivid and beautiful.
3. HARDWARE
The Hardware on the Samsung A25 is again controversial, just like the Samsung A15 5G. Again, For transparency, The Samsung A25 5G starts from 8/128 GB Variant and the price starts from Rs. 26999/-, which means around 27K/-. and for that, we are getting an Exynos 1280 chipset in this handset. Exynos 1280 is the worst chipset Samsung has made. It is a very mediocre chipset, But Samsung decided to bring it back, which is an absolutely horrible decision by Samsung.
Exynos 1280 is a 2.4Ghz Clock speed-based chipset and can handle the work easily, but the performance is bad. The phone heats up after doing some multitasking and even frame drops are also seen in the UI.
In the 25-30K segment, we have brands that have launched phones with better chipsets and other powerful chipsets. Getting back to A25 5G, the ram is LPDDR4X and The storage type is UFS 2.2. All the basic work gets handled. although it's not a gaming device and If gaming is done, It heats up a lot. we have other options for that, But Somehow, The work is done on A25 5G.
4. SOFTWARE
The Software on A25 5G has Samsung's latest Operating System: OneUI 6.10, which is based on the Android 14 version. The UI is smooth, animations are also improved and the User interface is smooth and snappy.
OneUI has a ton of features, which help in the day-to-day life of a normal user. It also has a ton of features like Goodlock, Samsung Pay, and other stuff to make the experience more user-friendly.
5. SECURITY
As for security, it has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Again, in this segment, we easily get an in-display fingerprint scanner, but here we get a Side-mounted fingerprint scanner, which is fast and reliable and it also has a face unlock which is also fast.
As for the updates, it will receive 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates, making it future-proof. A future-proof device at what cost.
6. CAMERA
Samsung is generally known for its best camera hardware, The story is no different here but a little bit disappointed. It has a 50MP F/1.8 main sensor, an 8MP F/2.2 Ultrawide lens, and a 2MP Useless F/2.4 Macro lens. On the front, it has a 13MP F/2.2 Selfie lens. Samsung can easily try to give a 12MP Ultrawide lens, but let's see what Samsung has given, is it up to mark or not?
The camera shots taken from the main lens are quite sharp and on-point and the dynamic range is somewhat managed. The ultrawide lens is 8MP, so the photos are very soft, and in most cases, they are noisy. The shots on the Selfie camera are clear and the colors are okay. Samsung color signs are managed, the photos are punchy and there is no over-sharpness. As for the Video, It can record up to 4K 30FPS from the main lens and FHD 30FPS on the Selfie camera.
7. BATTERY
The Battery on Samsung A15 5G is a 5000Mah Li-Po Battery with 25 watts charging support. There is no charger included in the box, we have to buy a separate charger from the Samsung store or from their website.
The battery backup is good, considering the power-efficient chipset. It draws low power, resulting in good battery backup.
8. OTHER FEATURES
The Samsung A15 5G is a 5G device, so all the major 5G bands are included in it. It also has a WIFI 5 and Bluetooth 5.3. It also contains all the important sensors in it.
NFC is also included. OneUI has a good lock application, which basically used to customize the look and feel of the system.
9. CONCLUSION
The Samsung A 15 5G may spark controversies among tech enthusiasts because launched at a very bad price and a mediocre chipset. As per our point of view, this device should be charged at around 20K considering the brand value of Samsung. But for 27k, this device is absolutely not deserving. We have better options in the market, but no one offers the 4+5 update system like Samsung in this segment.
